Second World War at Clifton House – KS1 & KS2

Children will learn and explore about the impact of the Second World War on the local area, with interactive and hands-on activities.

Children will learn about rationing, and cook a Second World War recipe on the Yorkshire range.

They will discover what it would have been like to be an evacuee, and find out about life in an Anderson shelter during a bombing raid.

Photographs, newspapers and archives will be investigated to explore the local area during the Second World War.

Cross curricular links: History, Design and Technology (nutrition), English and Maths.
